Coronation Street spoilers – Character returns for Sean storyline

Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street viewers may have noticed a familiar face returning as part of Sean Tully’s pyramid scheme storyline.

Sean (Antony Cotton) has been trying to change his fortunes by recruiting his friends and family into a multi-level marketing scam called Double Glammy, though he’s started having regrets over putting them in financial peril.

In Monday’s (May 17) double bill, Sean’s newest recruit Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) was attempting to get a woman named Carol involved in the scam.

Carol isn’t actually a new character — she was previously in the soap back in 2018, played by former Emmerdale star Emma Hartley-Miller.

In that short stint a few years ago, Carol tried to help Sean when he was living rough by giving him the names and locations of hostels and soup kitchens so he wouldn’t have to sleep in the park.

Carol also invited Sean into a community of homeless people to protect him after he was mugged of his last remaining cash.

In her return to the cobbles, Sean felt extremely guilty about the idea of Carol being manipulated into giving money to Double Glammy now that she was getting back on her feet.

Sean refused to sign Carol up for the business, causing some friction between the two when Carol asked whether she was being rejected because she wasn’t attractive enough.

“I might have done some things I’m not proud of, but if you can’t help an old mate when they need it, stuff you,” Carol angrily told him.

Daisy too wondered why Sean was pushing away new business partners, but he still couldn’t bring himself to tell Carol that he was only trying to protect her.

Will this crisis of conscience cause Sean to re-evaluate his investment with Double Glammy?
